This interactive workshop provides foundational education on 2S/LGBTQIA+ identities, experiences, and inclusion, with a focus on building understanding, respect, and meaningful allyship in workplaces and communities. Participants will explore key concepts related to sexual orientation, gender identity, and Indigenous Two-Spirit identities, while deepening their awareness of the diverse experiences within 2S/LGBTQIA+ communities.
Grounded in an intersectional and culturally informed approach, the workshop also examines how systemic barriers, discrimination, and colonial impacts continue to shape the lived experiences of 2S/LGBTQIA+ individuals, particularly Indigenous people. Emphasis is placed on creating safer, more affirming environments where people can show up fully as themselves.
Through discussion, reflection, and practical examples, participants will gain tools to support inclusive practices in everyday interactions, workplace culture, and community engagement. This interactive workshop explores sexual health through a culturally informed, harm reduction lens, with a focus on respect, safety, and non-judgmental care. Grounded in Indigenous worldviews and community wellness approaches, the session supports participants in understanding sexual health as part of overall wellbeing, identity, relationships, and self-determination.
Participants will examine how colonial systems, stigma, and discrimination have impacted access to sexual health education and services, particularly for Indigenous, 2S/LGBTQIA+, and other marginalized communities. The workshop emphasizes culturally safe, strengths-based approaches that honour lived experience and support informed decision-making.
Through discussion and practical learning, participants will explore harm reduction principles as they relate to sexual health, including consent, communication, safer sex practices, and reducing barriers to care. The session also highlights the importance of creating supportive environments where individuals can access information and resources without fear or shame.

Through storytelling and humour, Mallory will share their journey navigating academic institutions and Indigenous leadership spaces, highlighting both challenges and accomplishments. Their story speaks to the resilience, strength, and brilliance of Two-Spirit and Indigenous 2SLGBTQIA+ people.
This single-presenter session will be followed by a 10-minute Q&A. Key themes include storytelling, healing, intersectionality, colonialism, identity, resilience, and community support. The goal is to inspire hope and belonging in young Indigenous 2SLGBTQIA+ students and leaders by sharing lived experiences rooted in identity, advocacy, and culture.
Weaving Our Stories Together: Using Art to Share Our Coming-In Stories (Youth edition)

Finding My Path: Education at the intersection of neurodivergence & Indigeneity

Through storytelling, honesty, and humour, Mallory reflects on their journey through higher education and personal growth as a neurodivergent, learning-disabled, Indigi-queer person.
Drawing from personal experience, this session explores themes of healing, identity, intersectionality, reclamation, colonialism, perseverance, and resilience. Mallory discusses how living with a learning disability has shaped their educational journey, highlighting both the systemic barriers faced by many students and the strengths, creativity, and determination required to navigate them.
The presentation emphasizes the importance of community support, cultural connection, and Indigenous ways of knowing as sources of strength and belonging. By sharing their experiences, Mallory illustrates how success can be redefined beyond conventional academic expectations and how embracing one's full identity can become an act of empowerment and self-determination.
Centering Two-Spirit identity and Indigenous perspectives, this talk offers meaningful insights into self-advocacy, inclusive leadership, accessibility, and creating space for diverse ways of learning and being. This interactive workshop explores the power of creative expression as a tool for healing, self-discovery, confidence-building, and personal growth. Rooted in the understanding that art can be medicine, participants will reflect on how creativity can support emotional wellness, cultural connection, identity exploration, and resilience.
Through guided discussion and hands-on activities, participants will engage with various forms of artistic expression, which may include visual arts, painting, drawing, beading, writing, poetry, storytelling, music, movement, or other creative practices available through the host organization. No artistic experience is required.
The workshop creates a supportive and inclusive space for participants to explore their strengths, express their experiences, and connect with themselves and others through creativity. Participants will leave with practical ideas for incorporating creative practices into their everyday lives as tools for wellness, self-expression, and healing.

Using the Medicine Wheel as a guiding framework, the workshop invites participants to consider where imbalance may show up in their lives and how healing and growth can be supported through connection to self, community, land, and culture.
